Bengaluru Weather Today, June 12: Heavy Rainfall Expected; IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Most Karnataka District

Over the past few days, Karnataka weather has been cloudy and rainy across several parts of the state as the southwest monsoon gains a strong foothold in India.

As per the latest Karnataka weather update from the India Meteorological Department, monsoon activity is going to be active across large parts of the state over the next 24 hours.

Several districts in Karnataka are expected to receive heavy rainfall with gusty winds, which prompted IMD to issue weather alerts in multiple regions. Bengaluru weather is also expected to be cloudy, with light to moderate rain likely at some places.

Karnataka Weather: Yellow Alert Issued for Multiple Districts

According to the IMD, a Yellow Alert has been issued for several districts in Karnataka, particularly in the Malnad and South Interior Karnataka regions as an active southwest monsoon phase continues to bring widespread rainfall across the state.

The weather department has forecast heavy rainfall ranging between 64.5 mm and 115.4 mm in parts of Karnataka over the next 24 hours.
Districts including Tumakuru, Chikkaballapura and Chitradurga are likely to experience heavy rain along with sustained winds of 30-40 kmph.
The Karnataka weather forecast says that residents should be cautious, especially in low-lying areas that are vulnerable to waterlogging and flooding.

Coastal Karnataka Weather Forecast

Rainfall activity is expected to be super strong along the coastal belt. Heavy rain with super fast winds of 30-40 kmph is expected at one or two places in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Meanwhile, Uttara Kannada is expected to receive light rainfall at isolated places
The active monsoon conditions are expected to keep coastal Karnataka weather wet and windy throughout the day.

Bengaluru Weather Today, June 12

For Bengaluru weather, the IMD has predicted a generally cloudy sky over the city. Light to moderate rain is likely at one or two places across Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts. Winds are expected to be strong, with speeds reaching 30-40 kmph during rain spells.
The Bengaluru weather forecast shows pleasant temperatures but intermittent showers could affect traffic movement during peak hours. Commuters are advised to carry umbrellas and plan for possible delays.

Rain Likely Across South Interior Karnataka

Apart from Bengaluru, several districts in South Interior Karnataka are expected to record widespread rainfall activity.
Light to moderate rain with winds of 30-40 kmph is likely over Ballari, Chamarajanagara, Chikkamagaluru, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Shivamogga and Vijayanagara districts.
