Bengaluru Weather Today

As per IMD's weather conditions, Bengaluru weather will be unsettled over the next couple of days, although the city is not expected to see extremely heavy rainfall. Residents can expect generally cloudy skies, occasional showers and breezy conditions.

Meanwhile, Karnataka's overall monsoon performance is below normal. Despite recent rainfall, the state has recorded a monsoon rainfall deficit of around 31% since the beginning of the season.

Bengaluru Weather Today

The Bengaluru weather today stayed largely cloudy, with light rain across several parts of the city. Temperatures were hovering around 26°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to remain close to 30°C and the minimum around 21°C.

The possibility of rain is expected to continue into Monday, after which rainfall activity could gradually ease. Temperatures may rise slightly towards the middle of the week as rain chances reduce.

IMD Karnataka Weather Alert Till August 24

The IMD Karnataka weather forecast shows continued rain and thunderstorm activity across the state through August 24.
The weather department has warned of thunderstorms, lightning, squally weather and strong surface winds during the period. Rainfall activity is expected across Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Residents are advised to remain cautious during thunderstorms and avoid open areas, isolated trees and other potentially unsafe locations when lightning activity is observed.

Heavy Rain Forecast For Coastal Karnataka

Coastal Karnataka weather is likely to remain the most active during the current spell.
The districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall, with strong winds potentially reaching around 30-40 kmph.

The IMD has also maintained a focus on rainfall over parts of North Interior Karnataka, where thunderstorms and gusty winds could accompany showers.

Karnataka Monsoon Deficit Still At 31%

Despite the latest rainfall, Karnataka continues to face a significant monsoon rainfall deficit.
From June 1 onwards, the state has received around 431 mm of rainfall, compared with the normal rainfall of approximately 623 mm for the corresponding period. This translates into a deficit of roughly 31%.

The expected increase in rainfall over Coastal Karnataka and parts of the interior could help reduce the deficit if the wet spell continues.
