Bhoot Bangla Box Office Day 2: Akshay Kumar’s Horror-Comedy Sees Big Jump as Weekend Momentum Kicks In
The much talked about reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after over a decade has finally hit theatres with 'Bhoot Bangla', a horror-comedy that arrived with high expectations. The movie is backed by a strong ensemble cast including Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, Rajpal Yadav, and the late Asrani, the film has opened on expected lines at the box office.

As per early estimates from trade tracker Sacnilk, Bhoot Bangla collected Rs.19 crore on the second day after minting Rs. 12.25 crore India net on its opening day, setting a decent start for the film.
Interestingly, paid previews that began on the evening of April 16 contributed an additional Rs. 3.5 crore, taking the total India net collection to Rs. 15.75 crore within the first day window.
In terms of overall figures, the film's India gross stands at approximately Rs. 18.90 crore, while the worldwide collection has reached Rs. 23.90 crore, indicating moderate traction in overseas markets.
Occupancy Report: Slow Start, Strong Night Shows
The film witnessed a gradual rise in audience turnout throughout the day. On Day 1, Bhoot Bangla recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 19%, reflecting a slow start that picked up momentum by night.
Morning shows: 10.77% occupancy
Afternoon shows: 19.15% occupancy
Night shows: 31.46% occupancy
The strong jump in night occupancy suggests positive word-of-mouth and improved footfall in later shows, which could benefit the film over the weekend.
Region-Wise Performance
From a regional standpoint, Delhi-NCR led in terms of show count, with 1,202 shows and 21% occupancy, while Mumbai recorded 889 shows with a higher occupancy of 25%, indicating better audience engagement in metro cities.
Overall, the film was screened across 12,386 shows nationwide on Friday, giving it a wide release footprint.
