Bengaluru Weather: When Will It Rain In Karnataka Capital?

Bengaluru can start receiving rainfall from Tuesday next week, ie April 28. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru is likely to receive rain or thundershowers towards afternoon or evening on Tuesday and Wednesday, ie April 28 and April 29. The city may see "generally cloudy sky with light rain" on Thursday, ie April 30.

Bengaluru Weather Today

Weather in Bengaluru today is likely to remain hot with partly cloudy skies. On Friday, the city witnessed nearly 2 degree above normal temperatures. The minimum and maximum temperature in Bengaluru is likely to be 23 and 36 degree Celsius on Saturday, April 25.

Why Bengaluru Is Seeing Above Normal Temperature?

Bengaluru is enduring hotter-than-usual weather this week, with little sign of relief before late April. While many parts of Karnataka saw pre-monsoon showers on Wednesday, April 22, the state capital stayed dry, and temperatures in the city stayed above seasonal levels both during the day and at night.

Urban heat islands develop when dense construction absorbs heat during the day and releases it slowly after sunset. Industrial areas like Peenya, dominated by large concrete sheds and corrugated roofs, and mixed-use corridors such as Nagawara-Hennur, with intense construction and busy junctions, store and re-radiate heat far more than greener or lake-side locations.

Karnataka Weather Update

Weather is likely to remain hot and humid across Karnataka, however some districts may see moderate rain and thundershowers. As per IMD weather forecast for Saturday, April 25, there will be light to moderate rain/thundershowers accompanied by hail with gusty wind (40-50 kmph) at a few places over Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Kalburgi and Raichur districts. Light to Moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (40-50 kmph) likely to occur at a few places over Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Koppal and Yadgir districts.
