From a global perspective, market cues remain mixed. The U.S. Federal Reserve adopted a relatively hawkish stance in its latest policy update on Wednesday. While it kept interest rates unchanged, the central bank flagged concerns that rising energy prices-driven by the ongoing Iran conflict-could push inflation higher and make it more persistent. This cautious outlook has added pressure on gold, as expectations around inflation and monetary policy continue to influence investor sentiment.

"The resulting policy uncertainty creates a strong tailwind for gold and silver. As the market weighs the transition from Powell to Kevin Warsh amidst legal subpoenas and regional war, the U.S. dollar may face pressure from a perceived leadership vacuum. This instability enhances safe haven demand as investors seek protection from potential stagflation," said Justin Khoo, Senior Market Analyst - APAC, VT Markets.
