Bihar is going to vote on 11 November 2025 in the second and final phase of the 2025 Assembly Elections, with polling being conducted across 122 constituencies in 20 districts of the state. According to the Election Commission, voting will take place at 45,399 polling stations, of which 40,073 are located in rural areas.

The second phase of polling covers 20 districts, including Pashchim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Jahanabad, Arwal, Aurangabad, Rohtas and Kaimur.

In view of the polling, banks in Bihar will remain closed on November 11, 2025, Tuesday. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has designated this as a state-specific bank holiday under its official holiday calendar, aligning with the second phase of elections.
School, Colleges Holiday Tomorrow on November 11, 2025
The closure extends beyond financial institutions including all schools and colleges in the state are also closed. Since many polling booths are set up in government schools, the move is aimed at ensuring smooth and uninterrupted voting operations. Educational institutions will reopen once polling concludes.
Government Offices, Workplaces Closure on Bihar Poll Day? Granted Paid Leave For Employees
All government offices in Bihar are also closed today to allow employees to cast their votes. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed that polling day be treated as a paid holiday, ensuring that government and private sector employees can participate in the electoral process without financial loss or penalties.
In an official directive, the EC emphasized the importance of maximizing voter turnout, urging employers across both the public and private sectors to grant paid leave to all eligible workers. This move is intended to safeguard the democratic process and encourage civic participation.
Liquor Shops Shut Down Tomorrow; 48-Hour Liquor Ban in Border Areas
In addition to administrative shutdowns, the Election Commission has imposed a 48-hour liquor ban in Bihar's neighbouring border districts to maintain peace and ensure a fair polling process.
The ban, which began at 5 PM on November 9, will remain in effect until 5 PM on Tuesday (November 11). During this period, the sale and transportation of alcohol are strictly prohibited, with violators facing legal action under the Model Code of Conduct.
Authorities have also increased security checks along the state's borders with Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal to prevent illegal transport of liquor and ensure peaceful polling conditions.
The first phase of polling was held on November 6, covering 121 Assembly constituencies. Voter turnout in the first phase was reported to be around 60%, and election officials expect a similar or higher turnout in today's polling, driven by favorable weather and enhanced voter awareness initiatives.
