Bihar Pavilion Achieves Gold Award at India International Trade Fair for Exceptional Design and Sustainability

The Bihar Pavilion received the Gold award at the 43rd India International Trade Fair for its outstanding design and thematic presentation. The award ceremony was held at the Amphitheatre, Musical Fountain near Hall 1 at Bharat Mandapam. This recognition highlights Bihar's dedication to sustainability and cultural preservation.

Bihar Pavilion Wins Gold at IITF 2024

Inaugurated by Bihar's Minister of Industries and Tourism, Nitish Mishra, the pavilion showcased the state's theme, Viksit Bihar under Viksit Bharat @ 2047. Mishra emphasised Bihar's progressive journey through this unique theme. The pavilion's design and presentation were key factors in winning the prestigious award.

Focus on Sustainability and Innovation

Nodal Director Nikhil Dhanraj Nipanikar expressed pride in the collective effort behind the pavilion. "This award is a testament to Bihar's vision and the tireless efforts of all involved in curating the pavilion. It reflects not just our rich cultural heritage but also the strides we are making in industrial and economic development," he stated.

Bandana Preyashi, Secretary of Bihar's Department of Industries, noted that this recognition is a proud moment for the state. She highlighted Bihar's focus on showcasing cultural vibrancy and economic progress. The award underscores their commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation.

Bridging Tradition and Modernity

Director Alok Ranjan Ghosh from Bihar's Department of Industries acknowledged the award as a reflection of Bihar's commitment to bridging tradition with modernity. He attributed the pavilion's success to meticulous planning and collaboration across departments. The achievement reaffirms Bihar as a forward-thinking state embracing its heritage while progressing.

The pavilion featured 75 stalls blending traditional arts with sustainable industrial practices. The entrance, designed as Sabhyata Dwar, symbolised Bihar's rich cultural and industrial heritage. Inside, 3D-printed visuals of modern Nalanda and Rajgir Glass Bridge were displayed alongside traditional art forms like Madhubani, Tikuli, and Manjusa.

Showcasing Entrepreneurship Initiatives

The exhibits included highlights of flagship initiatives such as Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana and Start-Up Bihar, showcasing entrepreneurship and innovation. These elements celebrated Bihar's integration of history, culture, and progress while focusing on sustainability with eco-friendly designs adhering to ITPO's plastic-free guidelines.

The decor used locally sourced materials, providing opportunities for artisans while reflecting environmental responsibility. The trade fair saw participation from over 3,500 exhibitors, including nine foreign exhibitors, along with representation from 33 states and Union Territories.

The Bihar Pavilion stands as a symbol of aspirations toward realising its vision of Viksit Bihar by 2047. This milestone achievement highlights the state's efforts in economic self-reliance and cultural preservation through innovative presentations at international platforms like IITF.
