Bitcoin Falls Marginally, But Stays Firm Above US$ 20,700, US Bonds Rally

Cryptocurrencies are volatile assets and the rates depend on multiple factors. However, bitcoin is staying at a firm position at above US$ 20,728.10, on November 7, even after falling 0.85% in trade today. Yesterday, Bitcoin closed at US$ 20,905.90. However, Bitcoin, in the last 5 days gained by 2.86%. In the past 1 month, it has gained by 6.13%. Additionally, in the last 6 months, Bitcoin plunged by 41.54%.

However, other crypto coins have surged marginally in trade today. Ethereum was quoted at US$ 1,587.87, up by 1.05%. Yesterday, Ethereum closed at US$ 1,571.31. Litecoin was quoted at US$ 68.56, up by 0.40%, Dogecoin was quoted at US$ 0.1153 up by 0.76%, and Cardano was quoted at US$ 0.4083 up 1.42% today, till last traded.

Meanwhile, the US 2-year Treasury bond yield was quoted at around 4.713%, and the US 10-year Treasury yield was quoted at around 4.197%. Additionally, the US Dollar index quoted at 110.14, down by 0.67% today. Additionally, S&P 500 was up only by 0.28%, stood at 3,781.19 points, and Nasdaq Composite stood at 10,473.34 points, down marginally till last traded.

Silk Road case

Commenting on the recent Silk Road case, a CoinDesk report mentioned, "Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said on Monday that authorities seized 50,676 bitcoins related to the darknet marketplace Silk Road in November. The bitcoin was valued at $3.36 billion at the time it was discovered. Now it is worth $1.04 billion. In November, it was the largest cryptocurrency seizure to date, but has since been surpassed by the 70,000 bitcoins seized in February in relation to a hack of the Bitfinex crypto exchange. In the Silk Road case, the coins were found at an address in Georgia connected with James Zhong."
