Bitcoin Plunges To US$ 20,030, Ether Quoted At US$ 1,588 Before Merger

The cryptocurrency market continues to fall today, after falling by around 7% yesterday. Today, on September 14, at 6.05 pm UTC, Bitcoin again fell by 0.71% intra day, and was quoted at US$ 20,030.20. Yesterday, Bitcoin closed at US$ 20,173.20. In the last 5 days, Bitcoin fell by 7.46%. In the past 1 month, it has dropped by 18.66%. Additionally, in the last 6 months, Bitcoin plunged by 50.07%.

However, other cryptocurrencies have revived marginally today. Ethereum was quoted at US$ 1,588.35, up by 0.87%. Yesterday, Ether closed at US$ 1,574.71. Litecoin was quoted at US$ 59.82, up by 1.34%, Dogecoin was quoted at US$ 0.0607 up by 1.70%, and Cardano was quoted at US$ 0.4766 down up 2.68% today, till last traded.

"For probably six to 12 months - there's no defined guidance yet from developers on ethereum - you will not be able to withdraw your ethereum once you've staked it to validate the network...We believe post-merge the bull case for ethereum is going to be a lot stronger for a number of reasons," commenting on the 'merger', mentioned Katie Talati, head of research at asset management firm Arca, CNBC reports.

The US stock markets are also under pressure today. S&P 500 down by 0.44%, stood at 3,915.30, and Nasdaq Composite down by 0.12%, stood at 11,619.54, at the time of writing. US Dollar index stood at 109.71, fell by 0.10%, till last traded.
