BTC Recovers From $80,500 Levels; Why Is Bitcoin Price Rising Today?
Bitcoin has made a recovery after coming under pressure earlier in the week. The cryptocurrency briefly approached $80,500 before regaining the $82,000 level and subsequently moving above $83,000.
The earlier sell-off was sharp. On October 9, Bitcoin fell 3.3%, while Ethereum declined 5.7%, due to heavy liquidations in the derivatives market.
"Bitcoin is trading around $83,800, showing signs of recovery after last week's decline. However, the rebound remains cautious as a stronger US dollar, elevated bond yields and uncertainty around the Federal Reserve's interest rate outlook continue to influence market sentiment. Investors will also be closely watching upcoming US inflation data for greater clarity on the direction of monetary policy." said Avinash Shekhar, Co-founder and CEO, Pi42
Despite the current recovery, Bitcoin is still quite below its previous record high. Bitcoin reached an all-time high of approximately $126,000 in early October 2025. At around $84,148, the cryptocurrency is roughly 33% below that peak.
Bitcoin's next move will be decided by upcoming US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for September, scheduled for October 14. The inflation report could influence expectations for Federal Reserve interest-rate policy ahead to the Federal Open Market Committee's October 27 to 28 meeting.
Ethereum, Solana, XRP and BNB Prices Today
The recovery can be seen beyond Bitcoin, with several major altcoins also recording gains over the previous 24 hours.
According to the coindesk data, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and BNB were trading higher.
Ethereum gained 2.81% to trade at $2,569.89, while Solana rose 3.09% to $112.72. Hyperliquid's HYPE token advanced 3.57% to $87.68.
XRP increased 1.55% to $1.42, and BNB climbed 1.08% to $754.74.
