If the proposal receives the green light, it would mark Paytm's first-ever bonus issue since the company was founded. The fintech major has also never announced a stock split since making its stock market debut in November 2021.
Over the past few quarters, the company has focused on strengthening profitability, improving operating efficiency and expanding higher-margin financial services. These efforts have translated into stronger earnings, allowing management to consider shareholder-friendly initiatives that were previously absent.

For FY26, Paytm reported its first-ever full-year net profit, posting a profit after tax of Rs 552 crore. Revenue from operations rose 22% year-on-year to Rs 8,437 crore, supported by growth across payments, merchant services and financial products.
The company also reported EBITDA of Rs 502 crore, representing a sharp improvement from the previous year, reflecting better cost control, operating leverage and improved profitability across its business segments.
These milestones have strengthened investor confidence and have helped reposition Paytm from a high-growth loss-making fintech into a company demonstrating sustained earnings momentum.
