Counter-drone system DefendAir to be deployed in India under BonV Aero and ParaZero alliance

Odisha-based BonV Aero has formed a strategic alliance with ParaZero Technologies to deploy DefendAir, a kinetic counter-drone net-launcher system, for Indian defence and security agencies. BonV Aero gains exclusive domestic deployment rights and plans to manufacture the system locally. The partnership also includes DropAir for autonomous deliveries in remote, high-altitude terrain.

Odisha-based drone maker BonV Aero formed a strategic alliance with ParaZero Technologies. The deal aims to supply ParaZero’s counter-drone system to India’s defence and security agencies. BonV Aero said the partnership adds to India’s counter-drone options. BonV Aero also said the threat picture is changing faster than current measures.

DefendAir counter-drone deal in India

Under the agreement, BonV Aero got exclusive rights in India to deploy DefendAir. BonV Aero later plans to manufacture the system locally. The alliance also includes DropAir, which supports autonomous delivery in high-altitude and remote areas. BonV Aero said the tie-up supports tactical needs across defence forces and agencies.

DefendAir counter-drone system and how it works

DefendAir uses a kinetic method to stop hostile drones. A net-launcher intercepts drones in mid-air and neutralises them. The system does not use the electromagnetic spectrum during interception. BonV Aero said this suits sensitive zones, because it avoids disrupting communications and navigation systems.

BonV Aero said intercepted drones can be recovered intact for examination. This can support technical checks and forensic work for intelligence. The company said DefendAir is meant for situations where other tools can struggle. It also said the approach helps when secure communications must stay uninterrupted.

Counter-drone system limits of radio-frequency jamming

BonV Aero said radio-frequency jamming remains the main defence option for now. BonV Aero said encrypted and autonomous drones may not depend on external signals. That reduces the impact of jamming systems. The company also flagged regulatory limits on jammer use near certain critical locations.

BonV Aero said jammers cannot be used near airports, nuclear facilities, and other critical infrastructure. The company said uninterrupted spectrum access is essential in such areas. These limits create challenges during high-risk protection duties. BonV Aero said DefendAir avoids these issues by not using spectrum-based disruption.

Counter-drone system field testing and India deployment plans

BonV Aero said the system was field-tested across several operational environments and use cases. The company said it has a record of neutralising UAV threats in active conflict theatres. BonV Aero said this provides agencies with references during evaluation. The company presented this as evidence of operational readiness.

"The threat landscape has changed, and Indias response capability must adapt accordingly. DefendAir is designed to operate in conditions where conventional countermeasures fall short,\" said Satyabrata Satapathy, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BonV Aero.

BonV Aero linked the partnership to recent security pressures. The company cited drone incursions along land borders and UAV-enabled smuggling across coastal zones. It also pointed to greater use of first-person-view platforms in conflict theatres. BonV Aero said these trends exposed gaps in existing counter-drone measures.

\"The partnership opens a route to integrate field-tested systems into Indias security framework. The system is built for border security, protection of strategic assets, convoy movement, and urban operations,\" said Ariel Alon, Chief Executive of ParaZero Technologies.

BonV Aero said the agreement positions the company to support varied agency tasks. The company said DefendAir and DropAir address both threat response and logistics needs. BonV Aero also said the focus stays on defence, paramilitary units, and central agencies. The companies said the alliance supports India’s security framework needs.
