BRICS Summit 2026: Delhi Train Services Restricted Till 13 Sept; 120 Trains Affected; Check All Updates

Indian Railways has announced some major changes to train operations in the Delhi Division from today September 11th to 13th. During this period around 120 trains are going to face cancellations, diversions or delays due to security arrangements for the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit 2026.

The BRICS summit is being held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, which will see the presence of heads of state and high-level delegations to the national capital.

Due to the VVIP movements and heightened security arrangements, Northern Railway has introduced a special Train Handling Plan for services operating through the Delhi Division.

The restrictions will affect both suburban EMU or MEMU services and several long-distance trains, including the Rajdhani trains.

BRICS Summit: Around 120 Trains Affected In Delhi

According to Northern Railway advisories, approximately 120 train services will be impacted between September 11 and September 13. Passengers travelling to, from or through Delhi during these three days should therefore check their train status before leaving for the station.

26 Trains Cancelled During BRICS Summit

Around 26 trains have been cancelled as part of the special arrangements. As per the official advisory, some of the affected services include:

64015 Palwal to Shakur Basti EMU
64429 Ghaziabad to New Delhi EMU
64425 Ghaziabad to New Delhi EMU on September 12 and 13
64432 New Delhi to Ghaziabad EMU on September 12 and 13

Several premium long-distance trains will also operate on diverted routes during the summit.

Among the premium trains affected are:

20840 New Delhi to Ranchi Rajdhani Express
12424 New Delhi to Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express
12314 New Delhi to Sealdah Rajdhani Express
12306 New Delhi to Howrah Rajdhani Express
22812 New Delhi to Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express

These trains will be diverted through the New Delhi-Delhi Junction-Sahibabad route.

Other major long-distance trains, including the Sampoorna Kranti Express, Gomti Express, Magadh Express, Shiv Ganga Express and Swatantrata Senani Express, will also face route changes involving Delhi Junction, Delhi Shahdara, Sahibabad, Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin.

Some Trains To Start Or End At Different Stations

According to the advisory, passengers should also keep in mind that some trains will not strat of end at their usual stations.
The changes will be till September 13 and include trains such as 64905 Mathura-New Delhi EMUwhich will terminate at Palwal, 64077 Palwal to New Delhi EMU which Will terminate at Hazrat Nizamuddin. Other trains including 64109, 14737, 64077, 14727, 64105, 64567, 64112, 14738 and 64568 will also be affected.
