Britannia Industries has appointed Rakshit Hargave as its new Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director. His role will commence on December 15, 2025. The company's board approved his appointment during a meeting on Wednesday. Hargave will serve as an Additional Whole-Time Director and CEO for a five-year term, pending shareholder approval, according to a regulatory filing by Britannia Industries.

Before joining Britannia, Hargave was the CEO of Birla Opus, the paints division of the Aditya Birla Group. He brings extensive experience in the consumer industry, having worked both in India and internationally. His previous roles include leading operations for Beiersdorf, the German skincare company known for NIVEA, in the ASEAN and ANZ regions.
Experience in Consumer Industry
Hargave's career also includes heading operations in Africa and serving as Managing Director of Nivea India. Prior to his time at Beiersdorf, he held positions at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) as Sales and Marketing Director, Kimberly Clark Lever, and Lakme Lever as Chief Operating Officer. Additionally, he worked with Jubilant Foodworks, a major quick-service restaurant chain operator.
His professional journey began at Tata Motors after completing his engineering degree. He later joined Nestle India. Hargave is an alumnus of the Faculty of Management Studies in Delhi and the Indian Institute of Technology in Varanasi.
Shareholder Approval Process
Britannia has initiated a Postal Ballot to seek shareholder approval for Hargave's appointment. This step is crucial for finalising his role as Executive Director and CEO. The company aims to complete this process before his official start date in December 2025.
The board's decision to appoint Hargave reflects confidence in his leadership abilities and extensive industry knowledge. His diverse experience across various sectors is expected to contribute significantly to Britannia's growth and strategic direction.
With a strong background in sales, marketing, and operations management, Hargave is well-positioned to lead Britannia Industries into its next phase of development. His leadership is anticipated to drive innovation and enhance the company's market presence both domestically and internationally.
