Budget 2020: Electricity For All Through Smart Electricity Meters
At a time when discoms are under acute stress, the FM in her budget 2020 speech going forward with the Electricity for all mission said that Smart electricity meters will be installed such that consumers are allowed to choose the power distributor as well as tariff rates. These smart meters shall be prepaid in nature.
Rs. 22,000 crore have been put towards power and renewable sector.
