Budget 2020 Update: Indian Railways Announced to set up New Tejas Express Style Trains

The 2020 Railway Budget: Such luxury train services will be run on main tourism routes across the nation, according to Sitharaman. The Indian Railways Tejas Express is the updated edition of Shatabdi Express. As part of the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2020-21, FM Nirmala Sitharaman announced the 2020 Railway Budget. The 2020 Railway Budget saw a lot of new Indian Railways plans. The Minister declared in her speech on Railway Budget 2020 that in the coming years more Tejas express trains are expected to be used.

The luxury train services would run on main tourism routes across the nation, according to Sitharaman. Moreover, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) reportedly owns and operates two new Tejas Express trains. This year, on 17 January, IRCTC announced the second Indian private train named Ahmedabad-Mumbai Tejas Express. On 19 January 2020, the train began its commercial operations with fully air-conditioned for the passengers. This consists of two Chair Car coaches and eight Chair Car coaches.

There are 56 spaces for each Executive Chair Car Coach of the train and 78 for each Chair Car Coach of the train. A free rail travel insurance of up to Rs 25 lakh is available for every passenger who travels on this private train. In fact, during the passenger's travel time it offers exclusive compensation for household robbery/theft of Rs 1 lakh. IRCTC's Tejas Express provides a range of advanced features including CCTVs, tea and coffee vending machines, large glass-bottom luggage racks, automatic entry and exit doors, portable bio-toilets, sliding doors, call buttons, custom read lights, mobile charging points, button-operated Venetian blind windows, personalized LED entertainment-cum-information screens and more. Financial Express Online recently reported that the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Tejas Express had an occupancy of 90% and that, due to fog-related problems, the Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express saw a slow start.
