The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, which includes the institutional framework for multimodal connectivity rollout, implementation, monitoring, and support mechanisms.

On October 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a Rs 100 lakh crore national master plan for multi-modal connectivity, with the goal of developing infrastructure to lower logistic costs and improve the economy.
Its goals include lowering logistic costs, increasing cargo handling capacity, and shortening turnaround times.
There will be a Cabinet Secretary-led Empowered Group of Secretaries (EGoS) including secretaries from 18 ministries as members, among others.
The NPG will be backed by a technical support unit (TSU) in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's Logistics Division.
Domain experts from a variety of infrastructure sectors will be included in the TSU, including aviation, maritime, public transportation, rail, roads and highways, ports, power, pipeline, GIS, ICT, finance/market PPP, logistics, and data analytics, among others.
To maintain logistics efficiency, the EGOS has been tasked with reviewing and monitoring the PM GatiShakti NMP's implementation.
