CBI Arrests Power Grid Corporation GM & KEC International Executives in Rs. 2.5 Lakh Bribery Scandal

A major report surfaced where the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Uday Kumar, General Manager at Power Grid Corporation of India, for allegedly accepting a Rs. 2.5 lakh bribe. The arrest as per reports was made yesterday, on March 20.

Bribery Allegations and Arrest

According to CBI officials, Uday Kumar accepted the bribe from an executive of Mumbai-based infrastructure firm KEC International in exchange for extending undue favors to the company.
Both Uday Singh and other official from KEC International Suman Singh were caught in Rajasthan where the exchange of money took place

CBI Investigation and FIR Details

The CBI has registered an FIR naming five individuals, including KEC International, as accused in the case. Among them is Jabraj Singh, Vice-President and North India Head of KEC International.

Officials stated that the arrests followed a thorough investigation and surveillance operation tracking the exchange of illicit money. Subsequently, CBI teams conducted searches at multiple locations linked to Uday Kumar and other accused individuals to gather additional evidence.
