CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: Lakhs of students who appeared for the Class 12 examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education are eagerly awaiting the result announcement. CBSE Class 12 exam results are typically announced in mid-May and may be released this week or next week.
However, several media reports suggest that the CBSE Class 12 board exam results may face a delay due to the newly introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.

Is OSM Evaluation Delaying CBSE Class 12th Result?
Some remote locations reported delay in the completion of CBSE Class 12th result due to connectivity issues, however, majority of the evaluation work has been completed, as per a Jagran Josh report, which added that there is no delay in CBSE Class 12th result evaluation due to the new OSM scheme.
The CBSE evaluation work proceeded as per the timeline and was scheduled to conclude by Saturday, May 09, as per Jagran Josh report.
CBSE Refutes Delay Due To OSM Evaluation
Last week, CBSE refuted the claims related to delay in Class 12th result announcement due to OSM evaluation system. " I refute each and everything that has been stated in some media news portals. These are false, and everything is perfectly fine. We are so proud that we have started this process," Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj told PTI last week.
When Will CBSE Class 12th Result Be Announced?
The Central Board of Secondary Education Class 12 board exam results are expected to be announced in the third week of May, according to media reports. However, the board has not yet officially confirmed the result date. Based on previous years' trends, students are likely to expect the CBSE Class 12 results to be declared around mid-May.
What is OSM Scheme For CBSE Class 12th Exam evaluation?
The CBSE Class 12 OSM scheme was introduced this year to improve the efficiency of answer sheets evaluation and also cut down the time required for the process. It is a digital evaluation system where students' physical answer booklets are scanned and assessed by examiners on secure computer screens. Till last year, examiners used to check direct answer sheets written by the students. As per CBSE, the process would help in speeding up results, prevent totalling mistakes and increase transparency.
How To Check CBSE Result?
Students can check the Class 12th CBSE result on the official website, i.e., cbse.gov.in. Apart from the website, CBSE candidates can also obtain CBSE 12th Results through government digital platforms. Results will be accessible on the UMANG app and DigiLocker, where students can view and store digital copies of their scorecards. These platforms usually require registration with a mobile number and verification using Aadhaar-linked credentials.
