Celebi India has announced its role in managing ground operations for Thai AirAsia's new flights between Bangkok and Hyderabad, which began on 27 October. Thai AirAsia, a budget airline, is a joint venture between Malaysia's AirAsia and Thailand's Asia Aviation. It offers both domestic and international services from Bangkok and other Thai cities.

Passenger traffic between India and Thailand has seen a notable rise recently. This increase is partly due to Thailand's visa-free entry scheme. Tauseef Khan, CEO of Celebi Ground Handling India, highlighted this trend. He mentioned that the collaboration with Thai AirAsia at Hyderabad is a significant move in expanding their services across key Indian airports.
Growing Demand for International Travel
The partnership reflects the growing demand for international travel in India. Thai AirAsia has launched four direct weekly flights connecting Hyderabad with Bangkok. This expansion signifies the increasing interest in international travel among Indian passengers, according to Celebi India.
India and Thailand have agreed to add up to 7,000 additional flight seats weekly between their major cities starting November 2024. This agreement underscores the need for efficient and scalable ground-handling services. Khan stated that the partnership with Thai AirAsia will help address this demand and improve passenger experiences.
Celebi India's collaboration with Thai AirAsia marks an important step in enhancing India's aviation infrastructure. The company aims to contribute to developing a world-class aviation ecosystem in the country. Khan expressed optimism about supporting this growth through their partnership with Thai AirAsia.
