Change in Travel Plans? These Airlines Will Not Charge Extra for Changing Dates
Are you planning to change your travel plans due to an increase in COVID cases? No need to worry, these airlines have waived date change fees. Air Asia is the third airline to join the list, following Indigo and SpiceJet. As a result of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in states like Maharashtra and Delhi, airlines are providing more incentives to passengers so that they do not cancel any of their travel plans.
Air Asia
AirAsia India declared on Sunday that it would not charge a fee for changing the time or date of a ticket booked before May 15th. In a press release, AirAsia India said that it has announced this offer to provide passengers with flexibility in the face of "increased uncertainty and travel restrictions."
Passengers can now make unrestricted changes to their reservations and changes until May 15, 2021, regardless of travel dates, without incurring any flight change fees.
Indigo
IndiGo announced on Friday that it would not charge any fees for changing the time or date of domestic flights booked between April 17 and April 30. The ticket can be booked for any travel time between these dates. Passengers who purchased domestic tickets during the time span can make as many adjustments as they want, according to the airline.
SpiceJet
SpiceJet announced on Saturday that passengers who change the date or time on their tickets at least five days before the departure date would not be charged any fees. "Passengers booking direct domestic flight tickets from April 17 to May 10 can receive a one-time waiver on the change charge for travel between April 17 and May 15 under the new offering," it explained. SpiceJet also announced that it has reduced the price of a number of add-on services, including SpiceMax.
