CinemaCon 2026 is shaping up to be a significant moment for Indian cinema, with Ramayana and Toxic set to be showcased on a global platform, offering a major opportunity to reach international audiences, leading streaming platforms, and key members of the global film press.

Scheduled from April 13 to 16, CinemaCon 2026 is hosted by Cinema United and is widely regarded as the world's largest cinema industry convention. It brings together major studios, filmmakers, and exhibitors, where films are introduced to trade audiences, exclusive footage is screened, and industry-wide discussions take place.
"Ramayana (2026-2027) has arrived at CinemaCon," Fandango posted on X on Sunday. Images from the venue showcased striking posters, including a large banner reveal featuring detailed, high-resolution character artwork of Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and rocking star Yash as Ravana.
Interestingly, Ramayana is presented alongside several Hollywood big-ticket projects, such as Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, as well as the sci-fi film Dune: Part Three. Directors and star casts are expected to take the stage to promote their upcoming releases.
A poster titled 'Enter the World of Ramayana' on X describes the film as one of the most ambitious theatrical productions currently in post-production, designed as a global cinematic event. Shot for IMAX, the mythological epic blends large-format filmmaking with cutting-edge visual effects by DNEG, an eight-time Academy Award-winning studio. It also features a rare musical collaboration between Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman.
During CinemaCon, the Ramayana team will host private previews and open-house sessions at the Milano III Ballroom, offering a closer look at the film's scale, vision, and global release strategy. Key figures, including producer Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra and actor-producer Yash, along with members of the Prime Focus Studios team, will be present at the event to connect with global partners. Recent viral videos have spotted Yash leaving India for Las Vegas to represent the film.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Yash as Ravana. The film is being developed as a two-part saga, with Part 1 slated for release during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
Namit Malhotra has consistently positioned Ramayana as a global project, emphasizing the ambition to take the story beyond India and expand the international footprint of Indian cinema.
At the same time, Yash's other film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas, brings a contrasting tone. The large-scale gangster drama features Yash in dual shades and is being co-produced by the actor along with KVN Productions.
