CNG Prices In Mumbai Hike From November 1, 2026

The Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has hiked CNG prices in Mumbai and surrounding suburbs by Re 1 per KG with effect from November 1, 2026. This will be the sixth hike in CNG rates in seven months of the West Asia war.

As per MGL, the hike is aimed at partially offsetting the increased cost of input gas and ensuring the continued supply of CNG to end consumers. Last month, MGL hiked CNG rates by Re 1, followed by an Rs 2 hike in September. In May, MGL had revised both CNG and PNG prices.

Accordingly, starting this month, CNG price in Mumbai is now at Rs 90 per kg from earlier Rs 89 per kg.

However, the latest hike comes as a drawback for auto rickshaw drivers in Mumbai who heavily rely on CNG. Mumbai Rickshawmen's Union leader Thampy Kurien told Times of India that there has been a series of hikes over the past seven months and this has put an additional burden on autorickshaw and taxi drivers. The benefit of the recent fare revision will be wiped out by rising fuel costs.

As many as 4.7 lakh autorickshaw drivers, 1.6 lakh taxi drivers and 5 lakh private car owners reportedly rely on CNG in Mumbai.
