Currently Brent crude jumped 2.69% to $104.01 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) rose 2.54% to $97.84 per barrel Rising geopolitical tensions and supply concerns have pushed energy prices higher globally, putting pressure on India's fuel pricing system.
Despite rising fuel prices and global uncertainty, the Centre has assured citizens that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, LPG or CNG in the country.
Union petroleum and natural gas minister Hardeep Singh Puri recently stated that India has managed to maintain uninterrupted fuel supplies despite rising crude oil prices and global disruptions.
The minister also said domestic LPG production has been increased significantly to meet growing demand and ensure energy security.
