The Cockroach Janata Party's account on X has been blocked for users in India, after the handle drew rapid attention from Gen Z audiences. Founder Abhijeet Dipke said the original profile was withheld, and announced that a fresh Cockroach Janata Party handle has already been created on the platform.

Dipke also shared details of a newly created account, which reportedly gained 25.8K followers on X within just a few hours of relaunch. He posted a screenshot from X showing the message that the original Cockroach Janata Party account had been withheld in India. Along with the image, he wrote, "As expected, Cockroach Janta Party's account has been withheld in India."

Why Was Cockroach Janta Party Account Blocked After Crossing 200K Followers?

According to Dipke, support on X was a key trigger for the block. The founder said the Cockroach Janta Party profile had crossed 200K followers in under a week. The handle was launched on 16th May 2026, and Dipke stated it was restricted within four days, soon after crossing that milestone.

"Cockroach Janta Party's account was started on 16th May. Within 4 days the account got banned because it got more than 200K following," he said.

The name Cockroach Janata Party emerged from criticism of remarks reportedly made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant during a court hearing.
