Cognizant, a leading IT firm, has inaugurated a new campus in Hyderabad, which is set to generate around 15,000 new jobs. The expansive centre spans nearly one million square feet and was officially opened by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He pledged full support for the company's future growth and expansion plans.

Hyderabad's Growing IT Hub
The Chief Minister highlighted that this new facility will soon make Hyderabad Cognizant's largest base in India. He expressed optimism about the company's growth, envisioning it to eventually employ 100,000 people in the city. Currently, Cognizant employs approximately 57,000 individuals in Hyderabad.
Globally, Cognizant has a workforce of 346,000 employees, with 70 per cent or about 240,000 based in India. The company official noted that this significant presence underscores India's importance to Cognizant's operations.
Support for Expansion
Revanth Reddy recently returned from a tour of the US and South Korea, where he met with the Cognizant team. During these meetings, he assured them of his government's unwavering support for all their growth initiatives. He also thanked Cognizant for its substantial contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities benefiting various causes.
The Chief Minister mentioned plans to develop a fourth city on the outskirts of Hyderabad. This new city would join Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad as major urban centres. He expressed hope that Cognizant would establish a presence in this upcoming "future city."
The inauguration of this new campus marks a significant milestone for both Cognizant and Hyderabad. It reflects the city's growing importance as an IT hub and Cognizant's commitment to expanding its footprint in India.
The event underscored the collaborative efforts between the Telangana government and Cognizant to foster growth and development in the region. With continued support and investment, Hyderabad is poised to become an even more critical centre for IT innovation and employment.
This development aligns with Telangana's broader vision of becoming a leading destination for technology companies. The state's proactive approach in supporting businesses like Cognizant is expected to attract more investments and create numerous job opportunities.
The new campus not only signifies Cognizant's growth but also highlights Hyderabad's potential as a major player in the global IT landscape. As the company continues to expand, it will likely contribute significantly to the local economy and technological advancements.
In summary, Cognizant's new campus in Hyderabad represents a significant step forward for both the company and the region. With strong governmental support and ambitious growth plans, this partnership is set to drive substantial economic and technological progress in Telangana.
