The company reports a turnaround in quarterly earnings, supported by higher revenue, a return to positive operating earnings and a sizeable one-off gain. Waterways Leisure Tourism Q2 Results: Net Profit at Rs 58.49 Crore

Waterways Leisure Tourism reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 58.49 crore for the quarter ended September 2026, compared with a net loss of Rs 8.9 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 23 crore in the June 2026 quarter.

Revenue from operations increased 30.9% year-on-year to Rs 132.9 crore in the September quarter, compared with Rs 101.5 crore a year earlier. The growth points to an improvement in business activity during the period.

The company also reported positive EBITDA of Rs 9.7 crore, compared with an EBITDA loss of Rs 6.5 crore in the September quarter of the previous year. The swing into positive operating earnings indicates an improvement at the operating level, although the sustainability of that performance will remain important for investors.

The headline profit, however, includes a significant exceptional gain. A subsidiary, Bay Cruise Investments, received Rs 49.5 crore under an agreement dated September 1, 2026, with Norwegian Sky Limited for facilitating the early delivery and handover of the vessel Sky.

The vessel was handed over on September 10, ahead of its previously scheduled date of September 30. Waterways Leisure Tourism classified the compensation as a one-off gain without a corresponding obligation. As a result, the reported net profit received a substantial boost from an item that may not recur in subsequent quarters.

First-Half FY27 Performance: Revenue Rises to Rs 323 Crore

For the first half of FY27, Waterways Leisure Tourism reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 81.3 crore, compared with Rs 25.8 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier.

Revenue for the six months increased to Rs 323 crore from Rs 277.9 crore in the year-ago period. The figures indicate an improvement in revenue and reported profitability, although the exceptional gain in the September quarter is an important consideration when assessing the quality of earnings.

Waterways Leisure Tourism Stock Split: What Investors Should Know

Waterways Leisure Tourism announced a stock split in the ratio of 1:10 shortly after its stock market listing on July 1, 2026. The shares traded ex-split on August 25, 2026, to determine the shareholders eligible for the subdivision.

Under the 1:10 stock split, each existing share was divided into 10 shares, with the face value and market price adjusted proportionately. A stock split increases the number of shares held by eligible investors but does not, by itself, increase the overall value of their investment or change the company's underlying business valuation.

For example, an investor holding 100 shares before the split would hold 1,000 shares after the subdivision, subject to the applicable corporate-action terms. The market price per share would also be adjusted in the same proportion, all else being equal.
