COVID-19 Vaccine Will Be Free In Kerala: CM
On Saturday, Kerala's chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the COVID-19 vaccine will be provided free of cost in the state.
Kerala recorded 5,949 new COVID-19 cases and 32 deaths on 12 December, taking the tally to 6.64 lakh and the toll to 2,594, said Vijayan to reporters in Kannur. A total of 59,690 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate was 9.97%, he added.
Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu announced free vaccination in October. "Coronavirus vaccine preparation work is going on fast in India. As soon as the vaccine is ready, it will be made available to every citizen of Madhya Pradesh for free," MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan had written on Twitter.
Assam and Puduchchery also announced free of cost COVID vaccines for the people of their states while Delhi's chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has demanded free vaccine for all citizens across the country.
