Cryptocurrency News On October 23; Bitcoin Hovers Over $60K

On Saturday, October 23, the cryptocurrency market was back in the negative, with Bitcoin, one of the most prominent assets, trading at $61,230.81. The overall cryptocurrency market volume for the previous 24 hours was $95.08 billion. After reporting a remedy to a potentially costly "double-spend" flaw on the Polygon network, white hat hacker Gerhard Wagner has earned $2 million.
According to CEO Vlad Tenev, more than 1 million people are on the waiting list for Robinhood's long-awaited crypto wallet.

On Oct. 21, Tenev told Jim Cramer at CNBC's Disruptor 50 event that he was "happy" of Robinhood's success in crypto, citing the company's recent push to create a crypto wallet for its consumers.

Solana and Ether, both saw declines on Saturday. Solana was trading at $202.30, down 0.85 percent in the last 24 hours. Ether, on the other hand, was trading at $4,032.07, down 2.32 percent from the previous day.

On the other side, Dogecoin gained on Saturday. This altcoin was trading at $0.2463, up 0.56 percent in the previous 24 hours.

On Friday, a non-fungible barrel of 1991 Macallans scotch fetched $2.3 million on the NFT marketplace Metacask, setting a new record for whiskey auctions.

Last August, a comparable barrel sold for $574,000 at auction house Bonhams, setting a new record for a cask sale. Trevor Jones' digital work was included in this edition.
