Cryptocurrency Price Today October 3: Ethereum Down Over 3%; Bitcoin, Pepe Coin Also trade In Red

The digital asset market traded in the red on Tuesday (October 3) on the back of a sharp decline in the price of two major cryptocurrencies - Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The global crypto market cap has declined 1.86% to $1.09 Trillion. The total crypto market volume over the last 24 hours stands at $43.5 Billion, up 28.89%. The total volume in DeFi is currently $3.34 Billion, 7.69% of the total crypto market 24-hour volume.
Bitcoin price is down 1.42% at $27,578.88 per token. At this price, Bitcoin's market cap stands at $537.85 Billion according to CoinMarketCap data. At today's price, the market cap of Bitcoin has fallen almost 1.40% in the last 24 hours.

The Bitcoin price has fallen from its peak of almost $70,000 per token in late 2021. Meanwhile, there are speculations that one of the world's biggest tech companies could be plotting a surprise entrance to the world of Bitcoin and crypto. Noticeably, most cryptocurrencies have fared poorly this year as the US Federal Reserve piles pressure on markets- the US debt pile has soared to a whopping $33 trillion. This has raised concerns that the country has probably entered a "debt death spiral."

The price of the world's second-largest cryptocurrency Ethereum also traded lower today. Ethereum price was down 3.45% at $1,667.38 per token at the time of writing this article. At this price, Ethereum's market cap is also down 3.45% at $200,490,601,962.
Meme coins also performed poorly today. Pepe Coin topped the top crypto losers list as the meme coin was down 7.88% at $0.0000007449. At this price, meme coin has a market cap of $291.91 Million.

Shiba Inu's price was down 0.3.29% at $0.000007321 at the time of writing this article. The total supply of Shiba Inu coins is 589.59 Trillion SHIB.

Dogecoin traded 2% lower at $0.06216 on Tuesday. The total supply of Dogecoin is 141.25 Billion DOGE
