Day 12: Petrol and Diesel Prices Unchanged
For the 12th day in a row, petrol and diesel prices across the country remained constant on Thursday. Since July 18, the price of petrol and diesel has remained unchanged. The last time it was raised was on July 17, when petrol prices were raised by 30 paise per litre but diesel prices stayed steady.
Diesel prices were on their approach to reaching the triple-digit milestone. The fuel price in Mumbai remains unchanged at Rs 97.45 a litre. The price of diesel per litre in the nation's capital, Delhi, is Rs 89.87 per litre.
Diesel remained at Rs 94.39 per litre in Chennai and Rs 93.02 per litre in Kolkata, respectively. Automobilists in Bangalore are spending Rs 95.26 per litre of diesel at the pump.
On Wednesday, oil prices per barrel remained stable at around $75. According to a Reuters article, this comes after data revealed US crude inventories have decreased to pre-pandemic levels, indicating that the market's focus has shifted back to restricted supplies rather than soaring COVID-19 infection rates.
