Delhi Bomb Blast Scare: The intelligence agency has issued an alert of a possible terror threat near the Red Fort and the Chandni Chowk area. Key religious places in the area are under the radar of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), reported ANI on Saturday, February 21.
The terror outfit may be plotting an improvised explosive device (IED) attack, and a temple in the Chandni Chowk area could be a potential target, the news agency cited an intelligence alert issued regarding the same.

LeT Planning To Avenge Blast in Pakistan
The Delhi bomb blast alert has been issued as the terror outfit is allegedly seeking to avenge a February 6 blast at a mosque in Islamabad, reported ANI, citing sources. Lashkar-e-Taiba is plotting an IED attack. They are planning a major terrorist attack in India to avenge the February 6th mosque blast in Islamabad, Pakistan. Major temples in the country can be targeted by Lashkar-e-Taiba," Intelligence sources said.
Apart from Delhi-NCR religious places, prominent temples in the country can also be targeted by Lashkar-e-Taiba as well, the news agency added. The Delhi blast alert in February refreshes memories of the deadly car explosion that occured near the historic Red Fort in Delhi on November 10, 2025.
The Delh car blast left nearly 12 people dead and several other injured. The blast, caused by a car loaded with explosives near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, triggered fires in multiple nearby vehicles.
Recently, a Special NIA court at Patiala House Court on February 13 extended the period of investigation for a further 45 days to conclude the investigation in the Delhi blast case of November 2025.The National Investigation Agency (NIA) sought a 90-day extension to complete the investigation. Meanwhile, the NIA court has extended the judicial custody of 7 accused till March 13.
Delhi Blast Alert: Securities Tightened Across The Capital
After receiving intelligence inputs, the Delhi Police and security forces have significantly increased their surveillance in sensitive areas. Additionally, security has been heightened and additionally security personnel have been deployed in key areas, including important locations in Old Delhi. Vehicle checkpoints have also been increased and anti-sabotage inspections are being carried out near religious places and tourist spots in the city. Most of these spots are likely to see a large crowd due to the weekend.
