Delhi Free LPG Gas Cylinder: In a major development for Delhi residents, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, on Tuesday, February 3, announced a free LPG gas cylinder scheme. As per Delhi's Free LPG cylinder scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive free gas cylinders on two occasions.

What Is Delhi Free LPG Gas Cylinder Scheme?
Delhi Free Gas Cylinder Scheme was promised by the Delhi government before the Delhi elections. The scheme will begin from Holi. Under the scheme, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Delhi government will provide free LPG cylinder for poor families on Holi and Diwali. Additionally, beneficiaries will get an additional subsidised cylinder at Rs 500.
When Will Delhi Govt To Give Free LPG Gas Cylinders?
As per a PTI report, the Delhi CM Rekha Gupta-led Cabinet approved the free LPG gas cylinder scheme. As per the arrangement, eligible residents will receive Rs 853 via direct benefit transfer on two occasions, ie Holi and Diwali. The amount is equivalent to the cost of an LPG cylinder.
Who Is Eligible For Delhi LPG Free Gas Cylinder Scheme?
In a meeting chaired by Gupta, the Delhi cabinet decided to transfer Rs 853, the cost of an LPG cylinder, directly to eligible beneficiaries through a direct benefit transfer system. The benefit will also cover those eligible ration card holders using piped natural gas (PNG) connections, she said in a briefing.
How To Register For Free Delhi LPG Gas Cylinder Scheme?
There is no detail about how people can register for the Delhi LPG Gas cylinder scheme. As per Delhi CM's statement in media address, all the ration card holders in Delhi will be eligible under the scheme. As per PTI report, free LPG cylinders will be provided to households with valid ration cards on the festivals of Holi and Diwali.
With the Rekha Gupta-led government marking one year in office, media reports say that the administration has chosen to activate at least one part of that election pledge. The immediate focus is on the free cylinder benefit, while other components announced during the campaign remain under separate examination.The cabinet cleared the proposal during a meeting on Tuesday and earmarked Rs 300 crore for its launch and operation. According to officials, this amount is meant to cover the cost of transferring funds for one cylinder on each of the two festivals to eligible families across the city.
