Under the scheme, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Delhi government will provide free LPG cylinder for poor families on Holi and Diwali. Additionally, beneficiaries will get an additional subsidised cylinder at Rs 500.

As per a PTI report, the Delhi CM Rekha Gupta-led Cabinet approved the free LPG gas cylinder scheme. As per the arrangement, eligible residents will receive Rs 853 via direct benefit transfer on two occasions, ie Holi and Diwali. The amount is equivalent to the cost of an LPG cylinder.

In a meeting chaired by Gupta, the Delhi cabinet decided to transfer Rs 853, the cost of an LPG cylinder, directly to eligible beneficiaries through a direct benefit transfer system.
