Delhi H1N1 Cases Surge To 1,777: Swine Flu Infections Rise Nearly 8-Fold; Check Symptoms & Health Advisory
Swine flu infection has taken over Delhi and has seen a sharp rise in seasonal influenza and H1N1 cases this monsoon.
As per the official data the national capital has reported 1,777 H1N1 infections so far in 2026, compared with 229 cases during the same period last year rising 7.8 times.

The rising H1N1 cases in Delhi have prompted increased surveillance and a high-level review of the city's preparedness.
Union Health Minister J P Nadda chaired a meeting on Friday with Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh to look after the situation and to see if healthcare institutions are prepared if the situation worsened.
Officials have said there is no need for panic, the Delhi government has issued a health advisory for H1N1 and seasonal influenza, asking residents to follow respiratory hygiene, avoid crowded places and seek medical advice if flu-like symptoms persist or worsen.
Delhi H1N1 Cases 2026: 1,777 Infections Reported
According to the latest figures, Delhi has recorded 2,602 influenza cases this year. Of these, 2,392 are Influenza-A cases, while 210 are Influenza-B infections. The Influenza-A cases include 1,777 H1N1 cases, 37 H1 cases, 138 H3 cases and 440 other Influenza-A cases Among the 210 Influenza-B infections, 200 cases are of the Victoria strain, while 10 have been classified as other Influenza-B cases.
Health minister of Delhi Pankaj Kumar Singh said there was no shortage of beds, doctors, medicines or essential medical equipment in the capital.
He said patient numbers are being monitored and hospital arrangements are being strengthened according to requirements.
H1N1 Symptoms
The H1N1 flu symptoms are similar to other seasonal respiratory infections. Common swine flu symptoms include Fever, Cough, Sore throat, Runny or blocked nose, Headache, Body aches, Chills, Fatigue and weakness.
Doctors have also cautioned that symptoms can overlap with other respiratory infections, making medical evaluation important rather than relying on self-diagnosis.
More serious warning signs can include difficulty breathing, pneumonia, falling oxygen levels or worsening symptoms, particularly among vulnerable people.
Delhi H1N1 Health Advisory: What Should You Do?
The Delhi health advisory for H1N1 urges residents to take basic precautions to reduce the spread of respiratory infections.
People have been advised to cover their mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing and wash their hands regularly with soap and water.
Residents have also been asked to avoid close contact with people suffering from flu-like or respiratory illnesses.
