Delhi NCR is still choked under hazardous pollution, with the Delhi AQI today, on November 14, hovering between 410 and 427, placing the National Capital in the 'Severe' category. According to real-time data, PM2.5 levels remain above 280 µg/m³ and PM10 readings exceed 370 µg/m³, far beyond the safe limits recommended by health authorities. The worsening Delhi pollution level today has triggered emergency responses under GRAP Stage III, including strict restrictions on vehicles, construction, and schools & other outdoor activities.

Delhi NCR Air Quality Today: Pollution Levels Stay Hazardous
Early morning readings show that the air quality in Delhi NCR remains extremely toxic. Thick haze and reduced visibility, with a persistent layer of smog, have created dangerous breathing conditions for residents in Delhi. Both children and elderly individuals, especially those with asthma or cardiac issues, are at the highest risk. Experts warn that even healthy individuals could experience breathing difficulty, eye irritation, headaches, and fatigue when AQI remains above 400.
Air quality across NCR cities is equally alarming:
Delhi AQI: 410-427, Severe
Noida AQI: 389 Very Poor
Greater Noida AQI: 377, Very Poor
Ghaziabad AQI: 370, Very Poor
Gurgaon AQI: 300, Poor-Very Poor
Why Delhi's Air Quality Has Not Improved
As per experts & reports, Delhi's AQI has not dropped below 50 in the last two years and is consistently deteriorating. According to IMD, several seasonal and emission-based factors are responsible for this condition in the region:
Low temperatures and calm winter winds prevent dispersion of particulate matter.
Stubble burning smoke from Punjab, Haryana, and parts of Uttar Pradesh drifts into the national capital, polluting the already polluted air.
Vehicular emissions are one of the major contributors to Delhi pollution despite curbs on BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles.
Dust from ongoing construction, industrial emissions, and local biomass burning contribute to the thick smog blanket.
GRAP-III Restrictions: What's Banned in Delhi NCR
Under Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), the following bans have now been implemented:
Complete stoppage of construction activities in NCR
Ban on BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles
Closure of stone crushers, mining sites, and hot-mix plants not operating on clean fuels
Diesel generators are allowed only for emergency services
Schools in Delhi NCR Shift to Hybrid Mode
Due to worsening Delhi pollution levels, several school operations have changed, like classes up to Grade 5 will now operate in hybrid mode, and outdoor activities, sports sessions, and assemblies remain suspended for all students.
Delhi Weather Today
Despite catastrophic air quality, Delhi weather today on November 14 remains mostly sunny and pleasant with a maximum temperature around 27.3°C and a minimum temperature at 17.7°C as per IMD. Residents can expect mild fog and reduced visibility in the morning with slightly cooler winds during the evening.
