Delhi Startup Boost: Go-Delhi Foundation Gets Rs. 50 Crore Outlay; Check Benefits for Startups and MSMEs

If you are a startup founder struggling to turn your idea into a market-ready product, the Delhi government's latest initiative could be of great help.

The Delhi government has approved the formation of the Go-Delhi Foundation with an initial budget outlay of Rs. 50 crore to support startups, small businesses and young innovators.

Delhi Startup Boost

The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta approved it on October 18th.

The foundation will be set up as a not-for-profit company under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, and will function under the Delhi government's Department of Industries.

How Will the Go-Delhi Foundation Help Startups?

For many startups, developing an idea into a market-ready product can be expensive, particularly when access to laboratories, testing facilities and technical expertise is limited. The Go-Delhi Foundation will address these challenges by providing required support services.

Startups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will be able to access product engineering, prototyping facilities, laboratories, testing services, mentorship and incubation support. The foundation will also help entrepreneurs connect with potential investors and industry partners.

The foundation will also encourage collaboration between startups and government departments.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said Delhi has nearly 21,000 startups recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

A few months ago the Delhi Cabinet approved the Delhi Start-up and Incubation Policy 2026 on July 14, with an allocation of Rs. 400 crore over five years.

The policy covers 11 state universities, 13 government-aided colleges, polytechnics, industrial training institutes and government school students in its first phase. The government has set a target of supporting more than 10,000 startups and creating over 4 lakh jobs.

Apart from that, a campus-to-market initiative was announced in February 2026 by the Delhi Govt which provides for Rs. 325 crore over five years to support 5,000 student startups.
