Shocking news knocked the houses of Indian residents faster than the Interim Budget announcement on February 1. On the very first day of February, when many are awaiting Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to present an interim Budget for FY25 ahead of elections, oil marketing companies have revised their LPG cylinder prices and jet fuel prices.
All OMCs such as Indian Oil Corporation, HPCL and BPCL have revised their LPG cylinder prices. Cooking gas in the 19-per-kilogram cylinders has gotten expensive with effect from February 1, 2024.

LPG Cylinder Prices With Effect From February 1, 2024:
At Indian Oil, the largest OMC of the country, LPG cylinders in the 19 per kg, have been hiked in the range of Rs 12 to as high as Rs 18 in metro cities. Kolkata sees the highest hike by Rs 18 per cylinder in 19 kg, while Chennai sees the lowest by Rs 12.5 per cylinder. In the national capital, Delhi, the price of a 19 kg cylinder has been raised by Rs 14, and in the country's financial hub, Mumbai, the prices have increased by Rs 15 per cylinder.
Here is how the prices have changed per LPG cylinder in 19 kg at Indian Oil:
Delhi: Price is at Rs 1,769.50 with effect from February 1, compared to the previous price of Rs 1,755.50 per cylinder.
Kolkata: Price hiked to Rs 1,887 per cylinder, compared to the previous price of Rs 1,869.
Mumbai: Prices hiked to Rs 1,723.50 per cylinder compared to the previous price of Rs 1,708.50.
Chennai: Now, per cylinder of 19 kg is priced at Rs 1,937 compared to the previous price of Rs 1,924.50.
Indane has now become one of the largest packed LPG brands in the world, with IndianOil as the second-largest marketer of LPG globally. Indane is a Consumer Superbrand as conferred by the Superbrands Council of India. It is a brand synonymous with safety, reliability, and convenience.
At present, Indane LPG is sold and delivered in six different pack sizes. The 5 kg and 14.2 kg cylinders are largely meant for domestic use and comprise almost half of all gas distributed, while the 19 kg, 47.5 kg and 425 kg Jumbo cylinders are marketed for industrial and commercial consumption. The recently launched 5 kg and 10 kg cylinders made of fibre composite with a trendy and translucent look are the latest additions to the domestic category. Indane LPG is also supplied in bulk to large-volume consumers in the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) Prices With Effect From February 1, 2024:
Indian Oil also revised jet fuel prices for domestic airlines on home ground and international runs.
With effect from February 1, 2024, the jet fuel is going to be available at Rs 1,00,772.17 per KL in Delhi, Rs 1,09,797.33 per KL in Kolkata, Rs 94,246 per KL in Mumbai, Rs 1,04,840.19 per KL in Chennai.
Further, on the international run, domestic airlines will now have to pay $912.76 per KL in Delhi, $950.88 per KL in Kolkata, $910.84 per KL in Mumbai, and $907.88 per KL in Chennai.
Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) is dispensed from specially designed refuellers, which are driven up to parked aeroplanes and helicopters. Major airports have hydrant refuelling systems that pump the fuel right up to the filling outlets on the tarmac through underground pipelines for faster refuelling. Essentially, ATF is pumped into an aircraft by two methods: Overwing and Underwing. Overwing fuelling is used on smaller planes, helicopters, and piston-engine aircraft and is similar to automobile fuelling - one or more fuel ports are opened and fuel is pumped in with a conventional pump. Underwing fuelling, also called single-point is used on larger aircraft.
IndianOil Aviation Service is a leading aviation fuel solution provider in India and the most preferred supplier of jet fuel to major international and domestic airlines. Between one sunrise and the next, IndianOil Aviation Service refuels over 2,200 flights from the bustling metros to the remote airports linking the vast Indian landscape, from the icy heights of Leh (the highest airport in the world at 10,682 ft) to the distant islands of Andaman & Nicobar.
The interim Budget will be presented on February 1, 2024, by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ahead of Lok Sabha Election 2024 which is expected to be scheduled between April to May of this year. The full budget will be announced by the winning party of the election later in the first half of the current year.
