Delhi Weather Today: Residents in Delhi are likely to get relief from the scorching temperatures on Tuesday, June 30. The Delhi-NCR region is likely to experience rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in the evening. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for the Delhi-NCR region.

Delhi residents have been suffering from hot afternoons and unusually warm nights over the past week. The National Capital Region experienced one of its warmest June mornings in the past two years.

In a major relief for residents, several parts of Delhi-NCR are likely to experience rainfall with thunderstorm on Tuesday, June 30. Residents can experience strong surface winds during the afternoon and evening time. Minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to fall significantly over the next two days. Delhi's maximum temperature on Tuesday is likely to drop to 39 degree Celsius and minimum temperature is likely to drop to 29 degree Celsius.

The weather forecasting agency has issued a yellow warning for Delhi-NCR for Tuesday, JUne 30, and Wednesday, July 1. The warning was issued to caution residents about thunderstorms, rainfall and strong winds in the afternoon and evening.

Delhi Weather: Unusual Warm Nights in June

According to the IMD figures, Delhi's average minimum temperature during the March-June pre-monsoon period was 22.9 degrees Celsius till 29 June. This was higher than the corresponding figure for 2025, when the average minimum temperature was 22.5 degrees Celsius, and also above the 22.8 degrees Celsius recorded in 2024.

The last time the city saw a higher average minimum temperature for this period was in 2022, when it reached 23.3 degrees Celsius. In 2023, the average minimum temperature was much lower at 20.9 degrees Celsius, while 2021 recorded 21.2 degrees Celsius. The latest data indicates a clear return to warmer nights after a relatively cooler 2023.

The last time the city saw a higher average minimum temperature for this period was in 2022, when it reached 23.3 degrees Celsius. In 2023, the average minimum temperature was much lower at 20.9 degrees Celsius, while 2021 recorded 21.2 degrees Celsius. The latest data indicates a clear return to warmer nights after a relatively cooler 2023.

Delhi's daytime temperatures were also on the higher side during the same period. The average maximum temperature from March to June was recorded at 37 degrees Celsius till 28 June. In the six-year comparison available in the data, this was the second-highest average maximum temperature after 2024, when the figure stood at 37.6 degrees Celsius.
