Delhi-NCR witnesses heavy downpour and thunderstorms in the morning of Tuesday due to western disturbances. Following this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert in the capital city for two days from April 7 to April 8 in isolated areas. Notably, some regions are expected to see light to moderate rains, such as India Gate, Akshardham, Palam, Safdarjung, Lodi Road, Nehru Stadium, IGI Airport, Vasant Vihar, R K Puram, and Defence Colony, among others.
Delhi Weather Alert Today:

According to IMD, very Light to Light Rainfall, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning & gusty winds (30-40 km/h) were predicted for the forenoon of Tuesday.
In the afternoon, very Light to Light Rainfall, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning & gusty winds (30-40 km/h) are expected. But on the night of April 7th, it is predicted that very Light to Light Rainfall, Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning & gusty winds (30-40 km/h) will be felt.
"Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with light thunderstorm and lightning (30-40 Km/h gusty winds) is likely to occur at many places of Delhi and NCR," IMD said.
Delhi Temperature:
Despite rain warnings, the maximum temperature is predicted to be 31 degree Celsius for the day, while the minimum temperature could drop to 20 degree Celsius. In the early hours of April 7th, the maximum temperature hovered around 33 degree Celsius.
Delhi Air Quality (AQI):
The air quality of Delhi is expected to be moderate with 134 AQI from April till April 9.
Data of AQI showed that the current temperature in Delhi is around 23 degree Celsius with moderate or heavy rains with thunder. The humidity is 61% and wind speed is around 11.9 km/h. The live AQI of Delhi is said to 157, which is unhealthy signal. In some areas, the current AQI is at 156 in Karol Bagh, at 162 in Ashok Niketan, at 155 in Lodi Colony, at 168 in Ashok Vihar, at 160 in Mansarover Garden, at 165 in CC colony, at 165 in Todermal Road Area, and at 158 in Janpath among others.
Broadly, the current air quality is unhealthy, with AQIs ranging from 150 to 170, with exceptions of a few places that have AQI below 145 such as Punjabi Bagh Cooperative, Kirti Nagar, Neeti Bagh, Vikram Vihar and Kalindi Colony Station 2, among others.

Through its X handle, IMD said, "Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with light thunderstorm and lightning (30-40 Km/h gusty winds) is likely to occur at many places of Delhi ( India Gate, Akshardham, Palam, Safdarjung, Lodi Road, Nehru Stadium, IGI Airport, Vasant Vihar, R K Puram, Defence Colony, Lajpat Nagar, Vasant Kunj, Hauzkhas, Malviyanagar, Kalkaji, Mahrauli, Tughlakabad, Chhattarpur, IGNOU, Ayanagar, Deramandi), NCR ( Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh) during next 2 hours."
