Meanwhile, yellow alerts were issued for Shahdara, East Delhi, South East Delhi, New Delhi and South Delhi, where moderate rain and thunderstorms were expected.

The weather department forecast one to two spells of light to moderate rainfall in Delhi-NCR, accompanied by gusty winds touching up to 40 kmph. IMD Weather Updates: Heavy Rain, Snow Alert in Northwest India From January 30

The IMD further warned that another fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from the night of January 30. This system may lead to another round of rain and snowfall across the region, extending the spell of unsettled weather.

Temperature Today

On the temperature front, the weather office stated that minimum temperatures across northwest India are expected to rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius over the next two days due to cloud cover and rainfall. However, a drop in temperatures is likely in the following two days as cold conditions return.

Dense fog is likely to persist during morning and night hours in isolated pockets of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar over the coming days, reducing visibility in several areas.

The IMD has also forecast cold wave conditions in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, while cold day conditions may prevail at isolated locations in Himachal Pradesh on January 27.

Delhi Rains Today Affect Air Travel; Check Airlines Advisory

The inclement weather also disrupted air travel. After Delhi experienced moderate rainfall and strong winds on Tuesday, flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport were impacted. Several airlines issued advisories, cautioning passengers about possible delays and disruptions due to unfavourable weather conditions.

IndiGo warned that flight operations at Delhi Airport may face delays or rescheduling as heavy rain, strong winds, and low visibility could impact take-offs and landings. Passengers traveling to or from Delhi are advised to check flight status online, arrive at the airport well in advance, and stay updated with airline notifications to avoid inconvenience.

IndiGo also assured that all necessary measures were being taken to ensure passenger safety and smooth handling of affected flights.
