Delhivery will deploy 150 electric vehicles in collaboration with RIDEV over three months, targeting cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad. This initiative supports India's PM E-DRIVE objectives for cleaner transport and aims to enhance economic benefits for delivery partners.
Delhivery, a logistics company, plans to introduce 150 high-performance electric vehicles (EVs) in partnership with RIDEV. This deployment will occur over the next three months in the northeast, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. The initiative aims to reduce emissions and support India's PM E-DRIVE goals for cleaner transport.

Delhivery's collaboration with RIDEV includes an EV-as-a-Service leasing model. This approach removes high initial costs and technical challenges, making the transition to electric last-mile delivery both smooth and financially beneficial for gig workers. Delhivery already operates nearly 1,000 electric vehicles, including two-, three-, and four-wheelers.
Expansion Plans for Major Hubs
The company plans a phased expansion to major hubs such as Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, and Goa. This strategy aligns with their goal of eliminating tailpipe emissions. Prashant Gazipur, Senior Vice President of Last Mile Operations at Delhivery, stated that the partnership with RIDEV is crucial for sustainable last-mile operations.
"Our partnership with RIDEV is a transformative step in our journey toward sustainable last-mile operations. By providing our delivery partners with a low-friction entry into electric mobility, we are not only advancing our carbon neutrality goals but also significantly enhancing the economic well-being of our riders through reduced operational overheads," said Prashant Gazipur.
Impact of Pilot Programs
A pilot program in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru demonstrated significant benefits. The switch to RIDEV's electric two-wheelers cut CO2 emissions by 4,260 Kg and reduced daily operational costs for riders by over 50%. This successful trial underscores the potential impact of expanding EV use in logistics.
Manish Kumar Jain, Founder of RIDEV, highlighted the advantages of integrating their tech-backed fleet into Delhivery's network. "Integrating our tech-backed fleet into Delhivery’s network accelerates the transition to green logistics while simplifying daily work for the gig economy. Our platform allows riders to focus on performance while we manage the complexities of energy and maintenance," he said.
This initiative represents a significant step towards sustainable logistics solutions in India. By reducing emissions and operational costs, Delhivery aims to contribute positively to environmental goals while supporting its workforce economically.
