The DGCA has launched an auto computer number generation facility for flight crew exam candidates to streamline applications and reduce manual submissions. This initiative enhances efficiency and is available through the DGCA Pariksha Portal for eligible candidates.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched a new system for automatically generating computer numbers for flight crew examination applicants. This change, effective from October 16, aims to simplify the application process by removing the need for manual document submissions. Candidates can now apply through the pariksha.dgca.gov.in portal under specific conditions.

The DGCA's initiative is designed to make use of the DigiLocker facility, which will streamline the application process and improve business efficiency. By eliminating manual document submission and verification, the DGCA hopes to enhance ease of doing business. The auto-generation feature is available for candidates who have completed their 10th and 12th grades through the CBSE Board, provided their documents are verified via DigiLocker.
Streamlining Application Processes
This facility will also be extended to students from other recognised boards whose 10th and 12th class certificates are stored in DigiLocker. The system will automatically assign a computer number once an online application is successfully submitted on the DGCA Pariksha Portal, as long as eligibility criteria are met.
The civil aviation ministry stated that this development is part of broader efforts led by Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu. The goal is to digitise all processes within DGCA and BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security) offices using eGCA and other platforms. This digitisation aims to facilitate flying and approval processes for students, pilots, and stakeholders with quick responses and no human intervention.
According to a release from the ministry, these changes are intended to ensure a seamless experience for all involved in aviation. By leveraging technology, the DGCA aims to provide faster services and reduce bureaucratic hurdles in obtaining necessary approvals.
The introduction of this automated system marks a significant step towards modernising aviation administration in India. It reflects a commitment to improving operational efficiency and reducing delays in processing applications for aspiring flight crew members.
