DGCA Official Captain Anil Gill Suspended on Corruption Charges

Amid the graft allegations, a preliminary enquiry against Gill was conducted, and the report was submitted to the civil aviation ministry recently. Based on the findings, the ministry issued a notification stating that Gill has been suspended under Section 10 of the central civil services rules. This rule allows the appointing authority to place a government official under suspension when a disciplinary proceeding against the person is contemplated or pending.

Zero Tolerance to Malpractices

Reacting to the development, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia asserted that there is zero tolerance to malpractices in the aviation sector. He emphasized that any such issue will be dealt with the strictest measures in accordance with the law. Gill, who currently serves as a director in the Directorate of Aerosports at the DGCA, has been directed to remain in the national capital during the suspension period.

Reshuffle of Duties

In the wake of the corruption allegations against Gill, the DGCA has initiated a reshuffle of duties among various officials. Several officers have been transferred to different centers to ensure transparency and impartiality in the organization's operations.
