DGCA Orders Go First To Halt All Air Ticket Sales With Immediate Effect

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered the bankrupt airline GoFirst to stop all ticket sales with immediate effect pending further instructions.

The airline has been sent a show-cause notice by the Indian aviation regulator asking it to explain why its licence should not be revoked given that it has not been operating flights.

Go First

DGCA asked the airline to "stop booking & sale of tickets directly/indirectly, with immediate effect until further orders".
DGCA issued notice to Go First "for failure to continue operations in a safe, efficient and reliable manner".

GoFirst has been granted time until May 24 by the DGCA to provide a response, following which the regulator will decide on GoFirst's Air Operator Certificate.

The DGCA's notification to GoFirst requested the airline to explain why its AOC should not be cancelled due to its "failure to continue ops in a safe, efficient & reliable manner".
