The spy action thriller Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which hit theatres on March 19, continues to dominate headlines even after completing three successful weeks at the box office. While the film has delivered an extraordinary run and emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year, its collections have now started to slow down, as expected in the third week.

After a stellar performance in the initial weeks, the film has entered a phase of declining daily earnings. On Day 22 (third Thursday), Dhurandhar 2 collected around Rs 3.64 crore till 5:30 PM as per Sacnilk, with final figures expected later in the night. The film also recorded an occupancy rate of approximately 12.2% during the same period, indicating a gradual dip in audience turnout.

On Day 21, the film had earned Rs 7.90 crore net in India across over 13,000 shows, taking its total domestic net collection to Rs 1,041.27 crore. The total gross collection in India stands at Rs 1,246.67 crore so far.

Despite the recent slowdown, Dhurandhar 2 has already created history with its global earnings. The film has grossed around Rs 1,653.67 crore worldwide, including Rs 407 crore from overseas markets. In dollar terms, its collection stands at approximately 177 million dollar, making it one of the highest-grossing films of the year.

The film is currently ranked among the top global performers, though it still trails behind major blockbusters like Pushpa 2, Baahubali 2, and Dangal, which continue to hold top positions in the all-time box office list.

The film opened on a strong note with Rs 102.55 crore on Day 1 and maintained momentum through the first week, consistently posting high double-digit collections. However, from the second week onwards, the numbers began to stabilise, and by the third week, a noticeable drop has set in.

Legal Trouble for Aditya Dhar; Trimurti Films Sues Dhurandhar 2 Makers Over 'Tirchi Topiwale' Song

Amid its box office success, Dhurandhar 2 has landed in legal controversy. Production house Trimurti Films has filed a lawsuit against the makers, alleging unauthorised use of the iconic song "Tirchi Topiwale" from the 1989 film Tridev.

According to the complaint, a recreated version of the song appears in the film's track "Rang De Lal" without proper licensing or permissions. The plaintiffs have claimed this constitutes copyright infringement, including unauthorised reproduction and public usage of the original work.

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role of Hamza. The sequel, released in December 2025, explores the backstory of the character and expands on the narrative introduced in the first installment.
