Dibrugarh-bound IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Guwahati: Union Minister and BJP MLAs Among Passenger

An Indigo flight from Dibrugarh made an emergency landing at Guwahati's Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport on Sunday morning due to a technical issue. Rameswar Teli, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, and two BJP MLAs, Prasanta Phukan and Terash Gowalla, were also aboard aeroplane 6E2652 when it made an emergency landing at Guwahati airport.

Teli told ANI over the phone, "He is still at Guwahati airport after the flight made an emergency landing following a technical glitch."

"I was on the flight along with BJP MLAs Prasanta Phukan and Terash Gowalla. Today I have a schedule of three meetings in Duliajan, Tingkhong and Tinsukia. The flight was in the air for 15 to 20 minutes before landing at Dibrugarh airport and back at Guwahati airport and making an emergency landing. We are all safe. The authorities told us that the flight will not run again," Teli added.

The airport authority, on the other hand, acknowledged the emergency landing of the Indigo flight destined for Dibrugarh.

This comes just a few weeks after an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Varanasi made an emergency landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad, Telangana.

The diverting of the aeroplane, which had over 137 passengers on board, was attributed to a "technical problem" by officials. According to the DGCA, all 137 persons on board were unharmed.
