Diesel Price Hiked Again, Petrol Steady On September 27: Check Latest Rates
The state run oil marketing companies (OMCs) in India in line with global oil price surge to its highest since 2018 have now ended their almost three week hiatus in price revision. Diesel price has been hiked again today (September 27, 2021) by 24 to 26 paise per litre. This is the third increase in diesel rates in last several days, while petrol rates are steady for the 22nd consecutive day.
Last the rates were slashed for both petrol and diesel on 5th September, wherein petrol rates were cut by 13-15 paise, while diesel prices went lower by 14-15 paise. Oil marketers revise crude rates on a daily basis based on the international crude rate in the previous fortnight as well as foreign exchange rate.

In Mumbai, price of petrol breached Rs. 100 per litre level on May 29 this year. Global benchmark Brent crude rose to $77.5 per barrel after crude inventories declined from Europe to the US.
