NTPC Share Price Today: Shares of NTPC Limited fell close to 2% during Tuesday's intraday trading session, a day after the company fixed record date for dividend payout. Earlier the state-owned firm had reported 12% year-on-year jump in its consolidated net profit for the financial year 2025-26

NTPC stock was trading 2.07% lower at Rs 343 per share on BSE with a market capitalization of Rs 3,33,032.00 crore at 10:15 pm. The stock had touched an intraday high mark of Rs 350.60 per share and an intraday low mark of Rs 342.40 per share.

NTPC Dividend Announcement

The board had approved a final dividend for the financial year 2025-26. The company had approved a final dividend of Rs 3.5 per equity share with a face value of Rs 10 each. THe board had recommended the "payment of Final Dividend of Rs.3.50/- (Three Rupees fifty paise only) per share (on the face value of Rs. 10/- each) on the Equity Shares of the Company for the Financial Year 2025-26."

The final dividend will be approved by shareholders at the annual general meeting and the payment of dividend will be made on or after 23 September, 2026.

The company's board has fixed Wednesday, September 2, 2026 as the record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders for the payout. Investors must own the stock before the record date to become eligible for the payout.

NTPC Share Price Outlook

NTPC's pace of NGEL commissioning with consolidated renewable addition of only in 595MW in 1QFY27 against the FY27 commissioning target of 8GW, reaffirmation of the FY27 target of capacity addition, surge in consolidated regulated equity and improvement in coal PLF were among the key positives by the firm, according to Motilal Oswal report released on Tuesday.

NTPC Share Price Recommendation

The brokerage maintained a 'Neutral' rating for the stock with a target price of Rs 381 per share. "We have a Neutral rating on NTPC with a TP of INR381. Our TP is based on value of INR216 for the standalone, coal, and other businesses at FY28E P/B of 2x; value of INR20 for other subsidiaries at FY28E P/B of 2x and INR49 for JV/associates at FY28E P/B of 1.5x, and the stake in NGEL is valued at a 25% discount to the current market price," stated the brokerage in its report.

NTPC Q1 Result Recap

The state-run power producer, NTPC, reported better-than-expected earnings for the quarter wit 11.8% jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 6,721 crore in the June quarter of financial year 2026-27. The company's consolidated revenue increased by 7.8% on an annual basis to Rs 50,741 crore, against Rs 47,064 crore reported in the corresponding quarter.
