Dividend Alert: Shares of NTPC Limited will remain in focus in the coming week after the Maharatna PSU announced a 35% final dividend for the financial year 2025-26. The state-owned power company has fixed the record date for the dividend payout, which falls in the coming week.

NTPC share price closed 0.85% higher at Rs 331.5 per share on BSE with a market capitalisation of Rs 3,21,444.48 crore on Friday. The stock touched an intraday high of Rs 333 per share and an intraday low of Rs 328.80 per share.

The company's board of directors had approved a final dividend of FY26. The board recommended "Final Dividend of Rs.3.50/- (Three Rupees fifty paise only) per share (on the face value of Rs. 10/- each) on the Equity Shares of the Company for the Financial Year 2025-26."

The company has fixed Wednesday, September 2, as the record date for the payout. "It is hereby informed that the Company has fixed Wednesday 2nd September 2026 as Record date for the purpose of ascertaining entitlement of Members," stated the firm in its BSE filing released earlier.

NTPC Share Price Trend

NTPC stock closed marginally higher on Friday. Its share price touched its 52-week high of Rs 414.40 per share on April 27, 2026. THe stock dipped to its 52-week low of Rs 315.55 per share on December 9, 2025. The stock has a return on equity (ROE) of 15.21%.

India's largest integrated power utility, reported a strong all-round performance driven by operational gains and continuing growth in the June quarter of FY27. On a standalone basis, NTPC reported a total income of 44,512 crore for Q1 FY27, registering a 3% increase as compared to Q1 FY 26. Profit After Tax (PAT) for Q1 FY 27 rose to 5,342 crore up from Rs 4,775 crore for Q1 FY 26. The PAT growth was primarily driven by gains from capacity additions & operational efficiencies.

On a consolidated basis, NTPC Group's PAT for Q1 FY27 rose by 13% to Rs 6,896 crore from Rs 6,108 for Q1 FY26. The strong performance was bolstered by a 62% increase in the profit from group companies, which reached Rs 1,832 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 1,131 crore in Q1 FY26. NTPC's Coal power stations continue to set industry benchmarks in operational efficiency. NTPC's coal plants achieved a Plant Load Factor of 76.71% during Q1 FY27, significantly outperforming the Rest of India Coal PLF of 70.32%.
