DMart Q2FY27 Results: Revenue Jumps 18.4% YoY, Net Profit Rises 7.6% To Rs 804 Crore; Margins Slip

Avenue Supermarts, the company behind DMart, reported a strong rise in sales for the July-September quarter, but profit grew at a slower pace as costs went up. The retailer announced its results on Saturday, 10 October.

DMart's Q2 Standalone Numbers

DMart's standalone revenue rose 18.4% YoY to Rs 19,206 crore in Q2 FY27, from Rs 16,219 crore a year ago. EBITDA grew 14.1% to Rs 1,403 crore from Rs 1,230 crore. Net profit rose 7.6% to Rs 804 crore from Rs 747 crore, and earnings per share came in at Rs 12.32 against Rs 11.47 last year.

Profit grew much slower than sales, and that shows up in the margins. EBITDA margin fell to 7.3% from 7.6% a year earlier, and PAT margin dropped to 4.2% from 4.6%. In simple terms, DMart sold a lot more, but kept a smaller share of each rupee as profit.

One positive is that stores two years or older grew 9.5% in Q2 FY27, compared with 6.8% in the same quarter last year.

Store expansion

DMart opened 15 new stores in the quarter, taking the total to 518. It had added 18 stores in the first half of the year, which means only 3 came in the April-June quarter. The stores cover 21.4 million sq. ft. of retail area. One of the 518, in Navi Mumbai, is currently shut for reconstruction.

Consolidated numbers

On a consolidated basis, which includes the e-commerce arm DMart Ready, Q2 revenue was Rs 19,644 crore, up from Rs 16,676 crore. Net profit was Rs 743 crore against Rs 685 crore, and EPS was Rs 11.40 against Rs 10.53. EBITDA was Rs 1,393 crore against Rs 1,214 crore, with the margin at 7.1% compared with 7.3% last year. PAT margin was 3.8%, down from 4.1%.

For the first half, consolidated revenue stood at Rs 38,439 crore against Rs 33,036 crore. EBITDA was Rs 2,892 crore against Rs 2,513 crore, and net profit was Rs 1,603 crore against Rs 1,458 crore. EPS was Rs 24.60 against Rs 22.41.
